The Burratagram Holiday Gift Guide 2022

The Burratagram Holiday Gift Guide 2022

What’s better than burrata? Well, nothing, really, but burrata and Italian cheese-themed merch is the next best thing. Here are some awesome burrata-approved gifts to buy for friends, family, or yourself.

Disclaimer: The first two items are official Burratagram products and can be puchased on Etsy. Some, but not all, of the items listed after those contain affiliate links, which means Burratagram will receive a small commission if you use those links to make a purchase. You are never required to use affiliate links, but it is much appreciated if you do.

Photo shows Burratagram's official burrata cheese pin

Burratagram’s very own signature piece. Three-quarter inch size, perfect for your lapel, lanyard, or wherever you wanna pin it. With a gold-colored plating, burrata looks more regal than ever (some places actually serve burrata covered in edible gold leaf!). Wear it everywhere to identify your fellow #burratasquad out in the world.

Burrata Cheese Holographic Rainbow Die-Cut Sticker

Burratagram’s next in line. Burrata + holo = perfection, don’t you think? These bad boys are die-cut and ready to slap on all your stuff. I’m not saying that they’re way cooler than your laptop’s minimalist brand logo, but I’m not *not* saying that either.

Photo shows three bottles of Novello freshly bottled olive oil from the store Olive Oil Lovers

Bright green and bottled fresh off the press, “novello” olive oil typically has a strong, peppery flavor. This set from Olive Oil Lovers features oils from the 3 different regions of Italy: Lazio, Puglia (the birthplace of burrata!) and Umbria. Dunk whole loaves of Italian bread in it or drink it straight from the bottle. I’m not here to judge.

Photo shows a small bamboo cheese board with a built-in winde glass holder

The only thing better than a cheese board is a personal-sized one with a built-in holding slot for a glass of wine. Technically, any cheese board is a personal one if you believe in yourself, but this one is sized just right if you’re counting your macros (in a fun way). From Etsy shop 3CStudioUS.

Photo shows set of cosmic-print kitchen knives from Chef's Vision

I was going to suggest some cheese knives but I thought you might have already seen a lot of recommendations for those, so instead…space knives. You can use this cosmically gorgeous set to cut up *everything* you’re gonna put on your personal cheese board so it’s a win-win.

Photo shows Freshly Grated Parm Garlic Sauce from Zesti brand

Confession: For a long time, I didn’t understand the desire to “dip” your pizza in anything. Like…what? Why was this a trend? A high-quality pizza doesn’t need dip, right? I still maintain that truth, however…I recently tried this stuff and it’s actually amazing. It has become my “I put this stuff on everything” sauce. And I did, in fact, drink the last couple of drops straight from the bottle.

Photo shows a set of pastel-colored wine glasses from Estelle Colored Glass

Why drink wine out of plain glasses when you could drink from Estelle Colored Glass instead? You can find almost any color in any style of glass on her site, as well as decanters and cake stands. Some stores carry them now as well, so make sure to check the store locator if you’re nervous about ordering glass. Featured here is the stunning set of 6 mixed pastel stemmed wine glasses. Put one on your personal cheeseboard.

Photo shows crushed pepper gift set from Flatiron Pepper Company

Crushed pepper is a staple pizza seasoning for me, especially since I love a classic white slice. Not all pepper flakes are created equal, though, and I’ve tried many that simply don’t taste like anything at all. Flatiron Pepper Company’s flakes take it up a notch, serving a variety of flakes with varying levels of heat but more imporantly, all containing tons of flavor. Check out their gift sets if you want to see just how much heat you can handle.

Photo shows three bottles of Exau-brand olive oil

Chances are pretty high that you’re subscribed to one or more of the many streaming services available these days, but did you know that you can also get a subscription for the healthiest food in the world? (that link is fully cited, btw) The good folks at EXAU Olive Oil host an Olive Olive Club which will see new bottles of their high-quality oil shipped to you from Calabria, Italy, four times a year. So…Netflix and chill, but the chill is Italian bread soaked in olive oil.

Cities by the Slice NY Poster

Food and illustrator Dan Bransfield creates posters featuring the most well-known (and well-loved) pizza slices in major metro areas. Look through his shop for your home city or request a custom print. There are also shirts, sweaters, and other accessories because really, pizza should be on *all* your things.

Photo shows a custom-made ring that says "burrata"

Is there a better way to show your devotion to burrata than by saying “I do” to this badass statement ring? After all, burrata will never hurt you. Note that this a custom order so contact the designer at Lock and Spoon to inquire.

Photo shows "Big Mozz" brand mozzarella sticks

While there’s really nothing like eating Big Mozz’s famous Italian-style mozzarella sticks hot and fresh from their truck or one of their pop-up shops, the NYC staple now ships them frozen to your door. They come with pecorino romano for topping and marinara sauce for dipping. Go get ’em, you deserve it.

Photo shows a black unisex t-shirt with the words "Cheese Mongers Save the Milky Way"

As a bonafide nerd who went to school for space science (yes, really), I feel morally obligated to tell you about this t-shirt. I mean…*someone* needs to save the Milky Way, so why not the cheesemongers? I think the #burratasquad would do a pretty kickass job, tbh. This shirt comes to you from the official Cheesemonger Invitational shop.

Photo shows four different cheese books: Cheese Sex Death, Grilled Cheese Social, That Cheese Plate WIll Change Your Life, and the Cheese Board Deck

Cheesy Books From Your Favorite Cheese Influencers ‒ $various

Check out these books from some of your favorite cheese influencers (who are some of the coolest ladies ever, btw). Clockwise from top right: Cheese Sex Death by Erika Kubick, That Cheese Plate Will Change Your Life by Marissa Mullen, the Cheese Board Deck by Meg Quinn, and Grilled Cheese Social by MacKenzie Smith. Each book features burrata among its glorious cheesy pages and trust me, you’ll never run out of ideas with this stack of books.

Photo shows a poster print of various Italian cheese on a pink background

Food and art are two of the biggest icons of Italian culture so add some flair to your place with this bright illustration of Italy’s most famous cheeses. This one comes in white as well but I think the pink really pops. From Etsy shop ChromaticSoul.

Photo shows fresh mozzarella from Agonstino's mozzarella-making class

If you’ve ever thought that you wanted to try your hand at *making* burrata, it’s important to first master the art of making fresh mozzarella, as that will be your base for burrata (also, it’s a pretty good life skill to have in general). Agostino Fresh Mozzarella brings the mozz-making class straight to your house in the Tri-State Area, but you can do a search online to find a place near you.

Photo shows a polymer clay magnet featuring a cheese board with burrata

Get a little burrata board inspiration every time you go to your fridge and see this adorable little magnet on the door. Then open it and create your own, using some of the additional tools spotted in this gift guide. You know you want to. From Etsy shop prettyspookydesigns.

Photo shows a poster of the historical event the "Nottingham Cheese Riot"

At the Great Nottingham Cheese Riot of 1766, the townspeople, angry at the excessive cost of cheese, began seizing it, then battling with soldiers. We love to see it. Illustrated by Agustin Huarte and offerred by Working Class History.

Photo shows cover of travel influencer Kacie Rose's tourist guide to Italy

Travel influencer Kacie Rose first went viral when sharing her fascinating [and funny] experiences of culture shock as an American ex-pat in Italy and after living there for the past couple of years, she’s got ALL the info on how to have a good time. She also hosts group trips to Italy so be sure to subscribe to her website for updates.

Photo shows hot chocolate mix from NYC chocolate restaurant Max Brenner

I had to include my favorite sweet holiday treat on this list, as it’s a winter staple and the original recipe is Italian. Max Brenner, the “chocolate restaurant” of NYC, serves Italian Thick Hot Chocolate, which is essentially “melted chocolate blocks mixed with fresh vanilla cream.” Yes, it’s as delicious as it sounds. Now, they’ve created a version that you can make at home. Get some. Thank me later.

Photo shows a burrata cheese board with figs and apples

And last but not least, actual burrata! This one is tricky to link to because burrata is best bought locally as it is a fresh cheese with a short shelf life. Some places to buy burrata near you are your nearest Italian market or specialty store, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Stop & Shop, or other major grocers. As expected, it will be easiest to find in major metro areas. There are some options for online ordering and shipping, though they typically involve overnight or two-day shipping to keep your burrata fresh. Here are a couple of great ones: Lioni Latticini Regular/Truffle Burrata, BelGioioso Regular/Truffle Burrata, Buf Creamery Burrata
